Patches from Heaven - do you have yarn leftover from some of your projects? Here is a pattern to knit. These 9"x12" garter stitch patches are sewn together and distributed to the local "out-in-the-cold" program in the cold weather.  Send some warmth to others but knitting patches; don't let your yarn sit around gathering dust.  Keep those fingers exercised knitting.  It's good therapy.

Looking for an easy lacey knit Prayer Shawl pattern?  This pattern is so easy, it is only a 4 stitch repeat. The pattern is in multiples of 4 stitches.  I have cast on 80 stitches on 6mm (US size 10) needles. (I prefer wood/bamboo knitting needles. I find they put less stress on your hands. Plastic needles have a bit of a drag to them from static caused by the plastic.) I'm using 100% acrylic #4 (worsted weight) yarn. Acrylic yarn is machine washable and dryable and usually non-allergenic.  The pattern ..... finally you say, hee hee.  Repeat every ROW:  *K2, YO, K2tog* , repeat to the end of the row.   That's all there is to the pattern .... OMG 4 stitch pattern.  How easy is that!  I did 3 rows of plain knitting before I started the pattern. Once you have a couple inches knitted you don't need to count your stitches, you can easily follow your pattern.  💟

One of our outreach projects was to knit/crochet poppies for the Haldimand Horticultural Society. These poppies were displayed at our town's Cenotaph for November 11th.  Our group contributed over 1,100 poppies to the Society.

Our Prayer Shawl Ministry started February 7th, 2008.  As of December 2022 we have donated a total of 732 Shawls and lap covers;  4,062 squares;  115 preemie hats & baby hats; and a total of 104 knit 9"x12" squares to an out-in-the-cold program.  We have also knitted dozens of hats and scarfs which have been donated to the Seafarers Mission and our local Food Bank.
